I am a Montana native and live with my husband, Rocco, and our three children, Rainy, Liliana and Ryal, on our ranch in Melville. The Crazy Mountains of this area provide a stunning backdrop to the horses, cattle and cowboys that are central to my work. While my family and the ranch are my top priorities, I love capturing the beauty that I see all around me through the lens of my camera. I never set up any shots, I just shoot what comes my way. I think this lends a realistic element to my photography that would otherwise be lost.
Montana is a beautiful place that is home to an interesting and rich culture. This is a place where horses are still an elemental part of ranching. It is an extraordinary place, but can also be a very harsh place. It is often in the harshest of times, in freezing cold or in the aftermath of fire, that I seek out and discover the splendor that can be seen all around if we are willing to look for it.
Winston Churchill once said "There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man." This is what I hope to share with you.
